You might consider using a special plate or cup for the communion elements.
If you have kids, why not let them decide what sort of food and drink they want to use for communion? This can get them involved in a fun way. Remember, around the world, people do not always have the standard ‘bread/wafers’ and ‘grape juice’ we tend to use for communion.
